R. Bruce Hall was born on January 6, 1953, and has lived in Dothan all of his life, graduating from Dothan High School in 1971.  He attended Samford University in Birmingham as an undergraduate and also Cumberland School of Law and finished in 1978 when he opened his initial practice as a solo attorney.  His practice has a major emphasis in real estate matters, personal injury and accident claims, wills and estates and small business entities.  Mr. Hall is an approved title agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, having qualified as a top agent within the Southeastern Region for several years, earning recognition in the organization’s elite Castle Club.  He is also an approved closing attorney for Regions Bank, SunSouthBank, MidSouth Bank, Wachovia, BankSouth, Ameris Bank and Army Aviation Federal Credit Union, and all mortgage lenders.  Mr. Hall is admitted to all Alabama State and local Federal Courts.

Bruce is currently a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, and has served as a trustee.  He is also a former board member for the Dothan Rescue Mission, Landmark Park, Hawk-Houston Boys and Girls Club, and Dothan-Houston County Red Cross.  Current clients are involved in a number of wide ranging enterprises including commercial real estate development, homebuilding and contracting, independent investment businesses as well as legal counsel for the Wiregrass Mental Health Board, d/b/a Spectracare.

 


Todd Derrick

Todd Derrick grew up in Geneva, Alabama. He attended Enterprise State Junior College and the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama. In high school, college and law school he served as an enlisted soldier and then as an officer in the United States Field Artillery. He was a Distinguished Military Graduate and was on active duty at Ft. Sill during Operation Desert Storm.

He was a graduate of University of Alabama School of Law.
He is a past president of the Houston County Bar Association.
He has handled cases in all of Alabama’s federal courts and over half of the circuit courts of Alabama, including the largest known plaintiff’s verdict in Geneva County, Alabama - $19,000,000.

He has been a Continuing Legal Education speaker on the subject of uninsured motorist coverage, affirmative defenses and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. He is a certified mediator listed with the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. He is a past president of the Houston County Kiwanis Club. He has served as the attorney advisor for the Enterprise High School trial advocacy team. He has been a youth football and basketball coach.

His practice focus is on civil trial work with extensive experience in the areas of personal injury, insurance, premises liability, products liability and municipal and government liability.

 


 

Allison Reid Lumbatis joined the firm in August of 2007.  She received her J.D., summa cum laude, in 2006 from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, where she graduatedin the top 1% of her class.  While at Cumberland, she was the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship, served on the Editorial Board of the Cumberland Law Review as a Copy Editor, and received Scholar of Merit Awards for having the highest score in 13 classes over the course of her law school career.  Allison also attended Samford University as an undergraduate, receiving a B.A. in Communication Studies, summa cum laude, with Honors, in 2003. 

Allison is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Houston County Bar Association, and Curia Honoris, Cumberland’s national alumni honor society.  Prior to joining the firm, she practiced law with a large firm in Birmingham.  Her areas of practice include personal injury, business law, real estate, probate, and wills & estates.  In addition to her law practice, Allison is an adjunct professor at Troy University in the Sorrell College of Business, teaching business law classes. 

Allison is a Dothan native and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Calvin L. Reid.  She is married to Nathan Lumbatis, a Licensed Professional Counselor at Dothan Behavioral Medicine.  Allison and Nathan are members of First Presbyterian Church, where they are actively involved with the music ministry.
